Filmmakers: Explosion scene for latest 'Captain America' movie in downtown Cleveland Monday

CLEVELAND - Filmmakers for "Captain America: Winter Soldier" told NewsChannel5 an explosion scene for the film will be shot Monday morning in downtown Cleveland along East 6th street.

Security officials were stationed at the intersection of East 6th and St. Clair early Monday morning. Parts of East 6th and parts of Rockwell Avenue are closed for about a week during filming.

Security personnel allowed production crews to enter the staged off area. NewsChannel5 was there while crews prepared filming scenes.

Along East 6th, there are tarps covering vehicles. One of the vehicles is a police van that says "Washington D.C."

During filming this spring, several other streets in the Cleveland area will be temporarily closed. Drivers can expect closures until late June.
