Cleveland VegFest 2017: 5 things to know before you go

If you're a vegan, this might be a version of paradise. If you're curious about vegan living, this is your chance to learn more.

Sponsored by the Cleveland Vegan Society and Jakprints, Cleveland VegFest is an all-day event featuring food, speakers and exhibits.

5 THINGS TO KNOW:

1. Cleveland VegFest takes place on Saturday, June 3 at Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland: 300 Lakeside Ave E, Cleveland. It runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Find more information here.

2. The event is free, but organizers suggest a donation of $5, which entitles you to a goodie bag while supplies last.

3. You can sample vegan cuisine from more than 30 local, independent "veg-friendly" restaurants in the Vegan Food Court.

4. Activities and features include a cooking demos, a cruelty-free marketplace, a selfie station, free e-bike test rides, vegan-themed documentary screenings and the VegKids Area for children's activities.

5. The program features 16 speakers, including fitness and medical professionals, cooks and even someone described as a "spiritual gangster."

PARKING: See options in the area here. Note that the Pride in CLE Parade will be closing Lakeside Avenue (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.), which borders the north side of the Convention Center and the location of the main Convention Center entrance.
