A 32-year-old man was found murdered at his Cuyahoga Falls apartment Wednesday morning.

Police responded to an apartment building at 4260 Americana Drive around 9:30 p.m. after receiving reports of possible gunshots. Witnesses reported seeing the victim on his second floor balcony.

When police arrived, they found 32-year-old Kevin Tiearney unresponsive. He was taken by paramedics to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On Friday, the Summit County Medical Examiner said Tiearney was shot twice in the back and ruled his death a homicide.

The victim was engaged and leaves behind a young daughter.

Tiearney's fiancée sent the following statement to News 5 on Friday:

Kevin, who was my fiancé and we were together for 6 years, was the love of my life and truly my best friend! He did everything he could for not only me, his daughter, but also everyone he knew and came in contact with! His daughter meant the absolute world to him and was an angle in his eyes! His daughter truly loved him and was always truly excited to be with him and love on him! Everyone who knew Kevin knew how kind hearted and generous he was! He would do everything and anything he could for everyone he knew, and was always willing to lend a helping hand! He didn't deserve to go the way he did and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him!

Cuyahoga Falls police said there were no signs of forced entry and investigators suspect Tiearney knew his killer.
