EASTLAKE, Ohio - When you head out to pick up food for your Memorial Day barbecue, you may notice a different look at the Eastlake Valu King store.
Giant Eagle runs the store and other Valu King's throughout northeast Ohio, but recently changed the branding for its Eastlake store.
The Eastlake Valu King now has signs that say Good Cents. The official reopening will take place next week. The store expanded by 8,000 square feet and has a renewed focus on freshness with a cheese department and expanded produce, meat and deli areas.
Giant Eagle spokesperson Daniel Donovan said in a statement, "Good Cents better reflects the real fresh, not real fancy experience for customers who know how to recognize a great deal on high quality products."
So, what will happen at the other Valu King stores? The circulars are still filling mailboxes, and Giant Eagle said the Valu King name will continue for now at the Brooklyn and Ravenna stores. The company is still determining the best timing for their conversion to Good Cents.
