Body found in Lake Erie near Rock Hall identified as missing Maple Heights man Terrence Ewing

CLEVELAND - A man who was reported missing in December has been matched up with a body found in Lake Erie near the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland Saturday.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the body as 23-year-old Terrence Ewing of Maple Heights.

Emergency crews were called to the East Ninth Street pier Saturday afternoon after a parking lot attendant spotted a body floating in the water.

Family members reported Ewing missing after he disappeared Dec. 17. They said he left his girlfriend's house and was headed to his father's home nearby.

In the alert issued by police, investigators said Ewing took medications for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

The cause of death is still under investigation, but police said the circumstances of the incident did not require them to send homicide investigators.
