CLEVELAND - The woman charged in a hit-skip incident in downtown Cleveland that sent a TV crew to the hospital has pleaded guilty.
The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office said Brittany Arnoff entered a guilty plea Monday to a charge of aggravated vehicular assault. Her mother, Karyn Nowak, pleaded guilty to attempted obstructing justice.
The ordeal happened Oct. 22 at East 9th and St. Clair near the Galleria.
Police said the driver of a Kia – later identified as Arnoff – hit another car at that intersection, and then drove up on the sidewalk and hit two men.
The two people hit – Mike Brookbank and Tom Genovese – work for the show "The List," which airs on NewsChannel5.
Genovese said the SUV ran over his foot and side-swiped him, breaking his arm.
Two witnesses chased after the vehicle and were able to get a good description of the SUV. Police said the car then took off onto Interstate 90 eastbound.
Arnoff and Nowak are scheduled to be sentenced May 22.
