Firefighters said there was a fire when they arrived at the scene. The fire damage was mostly contained to the garage behind the house that exploded.
Other houses also sustained damage. NewsChannel5 photographer Mike Harris said he found debris a half a block away.
Windows were broken at one house across the street. That homeowner said her 1-year-old daughter was in front of the window just moments before the explosion, but wasn't hurt.
Another neighbor said she smelled gas Friday morning, but didn't think anything of it, then all of sudden heard a loud boom. She told NewsChannel5 the blast pushed in the side of her house and her son was cut by debris.
Cole Davis, a witness who said he was about 20 houses away, described the explosion as a "soft thud." He said his home shook and the windows rattled.
Firefighters said no one was treated for injuries.
