Strongsville police responded to a domestic violence call on Sunday afternoon at Chestnut Lake Apartments on Whitney Road.
The victim told police that the man was armed with a gun. The incident occurred at about 1:45 p.m. in building four of the apartment complex.
Strongsville police called the Southwest Enforcement Bureau to assist with the incident because the man barricaded himself in the apartment.
The man came out of the apartment voluntarily.
The man was identified as Jason Edmister who is charged with domestic violence. He plead not guilty and is currently being held without bond. Edmister's court date is rescheduled for April 7 at 9 a.m.
