STRONGSVILLE, Ohio - The president of the Strongsville Education Association told NewsChannel5 the union is unclear what part of the contract the Board of Education disagreed with during a bargaining session that lasted more than eight hours Sunday.
Tracy Linscott said the union issued a new proposal during the marathon session, which called for extending the school day by 30 minutes for students in the district.
"They really never identified what points they were not in agreement on. They just left," Linscott said.
"We tried to be creative and give the board a reason to end the strike and that's why we gave them that one time proposal for last night."
Linscott said she planned to reach out to the board Monday and ask for an explanation.
