A 9-year-old girl was killed in a crash Monday afternoon in Bainbridge Township.
Frederick Shafer, 55, of Bainbridge Township, was driving a 2014 Ford pickup truck west bound on East Washington Street he collided with a vehicle traveling east bound turned left into a private driveway, according to a Bainbridge Township police news release. The vehicle was being driven by William Varner, 44, of Northfield Center Township, with two passengers Lenore Varner, 69, of Macedonia and Carmella Karpovitch, 9, of Northfield Center Township. Lenore was in the front passenger seat. Karpovitch was in the back passenger seat.
All four individuals were transported to Ahuja Medical Center. Karpovitch later died at Ahuja.
Police do not think drugs or alcohol was involved in the crash.
Bainbridge police are still investigating.
