Willoughby police and the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force are looking for a man accused of getting on a bus full of elementary school kids and punching the 70-year-old driver.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 37-year-old Ronnie Haskins in connection with the case.

According to police, the incident happened around 4:25 p.m. Thursday at Grant Elementary School on Lost Nation Road.

Witnesses said that as one of the buses was attempting to leave to take students home, Haskins got out of a car and approached the bus.

When the driver opened the door to see what the man wanted, Haskins told the driver he wanted to take his daughter off the bus. When the driver said no, Haskins allegedly threatened the driver before getting on the bus and punching him in the face.

Haskins then got the child and walked off the bus, getting into a car with an unknown woman inside. The car left before police arrived.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the car, the girl or the suspect. Police later learned the girl was with her mother.

On Monday, an arrest warrant for fifth-degree felony assault was issued for Haskins. He is a resident of Cleveland Heights and is believed to be the father of the student.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Willoughby Police Department at 440-953-4212 or the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-4WANTED. Tipsters can remain anonymous and reward money is available.
