Kent State University police and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were called out to search a wooded area near the campus after receiving a tip Friday evening, according to school officials.
After combing through the area, police found the remains of a dead dog.
Authorities did not release information regarding how long the animal appeared to have been dead or where it was found.
