Kent police responded to a female who barricaded herself inside a home on Sunday afternoon.

Police attempted to serve a felony warrant on India Scott, 28, of Kent, who was wanted by Portage County Sheriff's Office for failing to appear on a felony charge of dangerous drugs.

Scott ran into the duplex and refused to come outside to officers.

Officers safely evacuated several other people from the home. People inside the duplex reported Scott was upstairs with a gun.

SWAT responded to the scene and Scott surrendered to police, unarmed.

After officers searched the home, they found a loaded firearm where the suspect was barricaded.

Scott is being held on a current charge by Portage County Sheriff's Officer and for inducing panic through Kent police.

There were no injuries reported and the incident is under investigation.
