Three people are sentenced for their involvement in a 2015 bank robbery, kidnapping and taking a family hostage.

On November 6, 2015, Taylor Crisman, 19, along with Chris Hill, 24, forced Key Bank manager Brian McConnell to drive to the Ontario branch on Lexington-Springmill Road and steal money while his wife and young children were held hostage inside their home.

Once McConnell arrived back home with the money, Crisman released his family.

Hill picked up Crisman from the home. Sarah Garrett, 42, and Hill counted the money later that evening. In total, the defendants stole $194,845 from the bank. Authorities recovered $171,058.

Garrett, who worked at the Marion County Family Court, used her position to improperly search the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway and provided the robbers with the address of McConnell.

Crisman was sentenced to 37 years for kidnapping, hostage taking and brandishing a firearm in relation to a commission of a felony.

Hill pleaded guilty to the same charges and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Sentenced to two and half years in prison, Garrett pleaded guilty to receipt of ransom money and misprision of a felony.

U.S. District Judge Donald C. Nugent ordered the defendants to pay the remaining $23,787 in restitution.
