An Akron man who was robbed at gunpoint last summer was shocked to learn his mugger is now accused of murdering someone months before that hold up.

Shaquille Anderson, 23, is accused of murdering Zak Husein in December 2015. The 21-year-old student was working behind the counter at his family’s pizza shop. Akron Police said Anderson was already serving time for a spree of eight aggravated robberies he committed several months later.

Gerald Jones said Anderson followed him home last July, held a gun to his face, and demanded cash and the prescription painkillers he had just picked up.

“Give me your money!” he remembered Anderson shouting.

Jones was stunned to learn Anderson is also now accused of murder.

“I think he delivered to my house a few times!” Jones said.

The former sanitation worker, who was placed on disability in 2005 following an accident at work, also witnessed Anderson rob a Family Dollar store just days prior to his own robbery.

“I was there!” Jones said. "He ran in, jumped the counter, told the dude behind the counter with a gun to his face to empty the register.”

Five surgeries have left Jones unable to work, but he said he never figured out Anderson’s excuse for not working.

“Really? Really?” Jones asked. "This guy can’t find a job? He wants to rob people for a living?”
