People who climb up the High Level Bridge at Gorge Metro Park to take pictures are now being fined for trespassing.

Earlier this summer, rangers started issuing citations to people who go off-trail to access the bridge which connects Akron to Cuyahoga Falls.

About fifteen citations and a handful of warnings have been issued in less than three weeks. Each ticket carries a $150 fine.

"It's just not a place that you want to be a daredevil. You're not going to fall from this bridge and be happy about the result," said Summit County Engineer Alan Brubaker, who authorized the park rangers to issue the citations.

For several years, trespassers have shared photos of their climbs on social media. According to the Summit Metro Parks, it's an act that is illegal and dangerous.

Recently, the concerned parent of one climber contacted Summit Metro Parks, saying his son climbed up the bridge and posted a photo to Facebook.
