Twinsburg Police are teaming up with investigators in Solon and other suburbs trying and solve a rash of car thefts and break-ins that have plagued multiple neighborhoods.

Lt. Jim Scarl told News 5 up to a dozen suspects ride into neighborhoods, often using multiple stolen SUV's, and begin a search for unlocked vehicles in the early morning hours.

Scarl said some of the suspects are under the age of 16, and look for vehicles that have keys or a garage door openers left inside.

Twinsburg Police report they are also working with CMHA Police in Cleveland, because some of the stolen vehicles were found days later on Cleveland's eastside.

Investigators told News 5 some of the suspects have been arrested, but they continue to search for more teens who may be involved.

Scarl said residents should never keep their keys or garage door openers in a unlocked or locked vehicle parked on the street or in the driveway.

Investigators in Solon are now reviewing surveillance video taken at one of the crime scenes in the search for suspects.
