Retailers are banking on shoppers to hit the stores, through Black Friday weekend. With thousands of brick and mortar stores closing up shop last year, there is more attention being put on attracting foot traffic.

Stores like Toys ‘R’ Us and Target are hoping to rebound on this Black Friday. About three million fewer U.S. shoppers took to the stores on Black Friday 2016. To reverse the trend, the stores are now relying more on "in-store only" sales.

On the other side of the aisle, there's also the workers having to work more hours, but a manager at the Toys ‘R’ Us said it helps to have a supportive family.

“I have done it for over 12 years. It does not bother me at all. My family pretty much understands, and we have our thanksgiving on Sunday,” said Joy Delaney, Store Manager at Toys ‘R’ Us in Parma.

According to the National Retail Federation, the average shopper is expected to spend $967 on holiday gifts this year, which is up three percent from last year.
