Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis placed on 10-day disabled list

Indians announced that Jason Kipnis will be placed on a 10-day disabled list.

It's his second time on the list this season after straining his right hamstring running to first base during Saturday's game in the third inning.

So far this season, Kipnis he is batting .232 with 19 doubles, 8 home runs, 26 RBI and 32 runs scored thru 66 games.

Indians called up Giovanny Urshela from AAA Columbus to take the place of Kipnis' roster spot. Urshela has spent the entire 2017 season with AAA Columbus.

Urshela has appeared in 60 games as third basemen for the Clippers and one game with the Indians as third basemen in the game against Minnesota on June 17.
