The Browns quarterback competition will be heating up at OTA’s in Berea this week.

Second-year Quarterback Cody Kessler is taking the reps with the first team. But both newly acquired Brock Osweiler and rookie DeShone Kizer are confident in their abilities.

All of the players expressed how much they're looking forward to the battle.

Kessler explained how he feels about Coach Jackson putting him with the first team.

“Yeah, obviously, there is a sense of confidence you get going into that, but at the same time, I just look at it as an opportunity. The other three guys are great quarterbacks, Brock, DeShone and Kevin. It is going to be a really good competition," Coach Jackson said.

For Osweiler, he finds himself in a familiar position.

“Competition has been around my whole life. I think competition is a great thing because it brings out the best in you. Once again, it is the best thing for the football team because the best player ultimately is going to play on Sunday.”

And Kizer is looking forward to learning from everyone around him.  “They all have some experience themselves out there playing so I’m just trying to figure it all out. A guy like Brock in particular, someone who has taken two teams to playoffs and understands what it takes to win.”

Browns OTA’s continue on Thursday, May 25.
