CLEVELAND - Highway closures continues to rack the Cleveland area, the latest victim is Interstate 77 northbound, which will begin seeing closures and restrictions on Friday night.
Officials announced that Interstate 77 will be restricted to one lane from I-490 onward beginning at 10 p.m. Friday. The highway will completely close at East 14th Street until around 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The closure is caused by crews repainting the highway, and when finished, motorists will notice new paint directing traffic patterns toward downtown.
Motorists heading toward I-90 on I-77 north are being advised by highway officials to take I-480 west to SR 176 north to I-90 east.
In addition to I-77 closure, officials say the I-490 east ramp to I-77 north will be closed Friday at 10 p.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday.
