NASA says a rare hybrid eclipse occurred early Sunday morning

What NASA called, "The most interesting eclipse of the year" happened early Sunday morning.

NASA said the overall event is a rare hybrid eclipse, meaning the eclipse first appeared as a ring of fire before changing into a full eclipse.

It was only visible on the East Coast for a short period of time during sunrise, around 6:30 a.m., where it appeared as a partial solar eclipse looking like a half or three-quarter moon.
