While we enjoy sunshine and 50s this afternoon, by the time of the evening commute, rain showers will move in along a cold front.

FORECAST: Cool today, then showers tonight with lake effect snow Friday

That cold front will drop our temperatures to the mid-30s by 9 p.m., allowing for a changeover to rain/snow mix that will be scattered across northeast Ohio.  Mix then changes to snow by 10-11 p.m. and continues to move south.

After the initial wave of rain, mix, and snow, lake effect snow will continue in the snow belt while most areas clear up to partly cloudy skies.

Most of NE Ohio will just be cold in the 20s in the morning and 30s in the afternoon with minor accumulation but lake effect snow will continue for Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula and potentially into Portage county through the day Friday. Bands will shift east and west at times. The heaviest amounts, where snow bands persist, will accumulate around 2-3 inches.
