When it comes to our pets, we want them to have the very best. That’s why at Paramount Dog Training in Cleveland, they offer K-9 Aquatics for dogs to help with weight loss, energy release and rehabilitation.

Paramount caters to all dogs with various needs, whose overall wellbeing can be impacted by the low impact exercise.

Trainer Rachel Daw says “people have loved it...they see the benefits whether that be because they needed the physical rehab or energy release, and the dogs have a blast.”

Two of her clients, a Great Dane named Benjamin, and small dog Kitty, attend K-9 Aquatics once a week together. Benjamin was struck by a car some time ago and has needed rehabilitation for his leg. The dogs’ owner, Bonnie Rodgers, says the exercise has had a great impact on Benjamin.

“To avoid surgery and avoid lifetime anti-inflammatory medications we needed to strengthen his leg and swimming is the perfect exercise to do that”, said Rodgers.

Rodgers’ other dog Kitty does not need the exercise due to an injury, but because she has a little too much energy. She says Kitty has ‘very high energy and she needs to burn off the excess energy outside of her daily walks.”

Both dogs have been visiting Paramount for 6 months now, and Bonnie wants to keep her dogs in the program as long as possible.

Paramount has three locations in the Northeast Ohio area, including Medina and Lorain. The Cleveland location is the only one with a pool at the moment, but there is a chance that another location will be implemented with a pool eventually.
