CLEVELAND - As Easter nears, it means fish fry season is under way. Check out our latest guide around northeast Ohio, including fish fry dinners from churches, non-profits, clubs, restaurants and other organizations.

Tilapia, baked white fish, potato pierogies, crab cakes or parmesan-crusted tilapia. All dinners served with side dishes of parsley red skin potatoes or the vegetable of the day, coleslaw, roll, beverage and dessert.  Weekly specials are available that alternate with clam chowder, lobster bisque and homemade cabbage and noodles. Enjoy a fresh 8-10 oz. North Atlantic prime cut cod fillet, hand breaded and deep fried to perfection using "0" trans-fat corn and canola oil. Hosted at "The Nash" (Slovenian Lanes, 3563 E. 80th St.) with open bowling available from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dinner includes choice of hand-breaded walleye, baked tilapia, pierogies or macaroni and cheese, all with potato and coleslaw. St. Denis fish fry (Fridays 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. from Feb. 1 - March 29)

House-cut and breaded Canadian cod for $13 per person, which includes tax and gratuity. The dinner includes house-made roasted red potatoes, coleslaw, fresh rolls, fresh lemon, tartar sauce. Reservations are suggested but not required and take-out orders are welcome. An alternate fried chicken finger plate is also available. A children's plate is $9.


The Cleveland Mannerchor (Fridays year-round, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.)

The Cleveland Mannerchor, a German organization in Old Brooklyn, opens its doors to the public every Friday night, year-round, for a fish fry. A basic meal includes one or two pieces of fried cod, bread and butter, plus your choice of apple sauce, coleslaw, or salad, and French fries or German potato salad.

The one piece dinner is $6.25, two piece is $9.50. Shrimp, scallops, schnitzel, brats, pierogis are also available.


St. John Bosco Church (Fridays, beginning Feb. 15 - March 29, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.)

Hand-dipped Alaskan Pollack in beer batter or broiled and homemade pierogies. Also serving Bruno's famous eggplant lasagna and manicotti. Dinners include: choice of one side (manicotti, mac & cheese, cabbage & noodles, French fries, baked potato, vegetables or pizza), homemade coleslaw, roll & butter, a homemade dessert (carrot cake or brownie), and a beverage (coffee, tea, or soft drink). Boy Scout Troop 433 annual Lenten Fish Fry. Dine-in and carry-out dinners feature fried or baked fish, fried shrimp, pierogi or mac-n-cheese entrees. Each dinner includes fries or pierogies, cole slaw or applesauce, roll and butter, dessert and beverage. All proceeds benefit the Scouting program at St. Clare. Senior and child discounts on all dinners.
