ALDI Inc. is recalling mini deep fryers sold in their stores due to fire and burn hazards.
The recall involves the Ambiano mini deep fryers sold in two colors, brushed stainless steel and red.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall was conducted voluntarily by the company under CPSC’s Fast Track Recall process and was submitted on May 10th.
In a press release from the company, ALDI says they sold about 35,000 units of the product, which is manufactured by Guangzhou Linkco Electrical Industries Limited, of China.
According to the CPSC’s website, the agency has received three reports of the deep fryers catching fire, including three reports of minor property damage. No injuries have yet to be reported.
The recalled deep fryers’ heating element can over heat, posing fire and burn hazards. If you purchased one of these fryers, you can return the product for a full refund at any ALDI store.
