Ohio reports 903 new COVID-19 cases, 52 new coronavirus-related deaths

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health reported 903 new COVID-19 cases in the state today, bringing the total number of cases to 146,753.

The number of new cases today is lower than the rolling 21-day average of daily cases, which is 999. These numbers include both cases confirmed by a viral test and cases that meet the CDC's definition of probable. There have been 138,712 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date, which account for 95% of total cases.

There were 66 new cases reported in Cuyahoga County today. Cleveland reported 16 new cases, bringing their total to 5,396.

There have now been 4,687 coronavirus-related deaths across the state, with 52 new deaths reported Wednesday, higher than the 21-day average of 24.

The ODH reported 78 new hospitalizations today, with eight ICU admissions.

As of today, 126,023 Ohioans are presumed recovered from the disease, according to the ODH.

There were 23,143 tests done on Monday, the latest day this data from the ODH was available. Of those tests, 2.7% were positive, compared to the rolling 7-day average positivity rate, which is 2.9%. Click here for details on where to get a COVID-19 test in your area.

The median age of patients is 40 with the age range for infected patients from younger than 1 year old to 109 years old.
