Cleveland police officer Vincent Lucarelli fired after found guilty of rule violations

CLEVELAND - A Cleveland police officer has been fired after being found guilty of violating department rules.

According to Police Spokesman Sgt. Sammy Morris, Patrol Officer Vincent Lucarelli was terminated following an administrative hearing on Friday, Jan. 11.

The hearing was with Safety Director Martin Flask, and Lucarelli was found guilty of a series of rule violations.

According to NewsChannel5 archives, Lucarelli was hired in May 2002, along with 68 other officers.

"There are 69 new police officers coming on the streets, so it will be a lot safer," Lucarelli told NewsChannel5 on May 20, 2002.

Other details of the incident have not been released.
