Multiple buildings burn at Pump House Ministries in Ashland

ASHLAND, Ohio - Multiple buildings at the Pump House Ministries complex went up in flames overnight.

According to Ashland Fire Captain Ray Miller, the fire was called in at 2:09 a.m. on a property directly behind the fire station.

Crews arrived at the scene to Pump House Ministries located on the corner of East 4th and Orange Street.

Three buildings of the complex were fully involved upon arrival.

The fire is now under control and crews are knocking down walls to water down hot spots.

Ashland Fire's chief investigator is now at the scene trying to determine the cause of the blaze.

The contents of the buildings is unknown at this time, however; Captain Miller said he believes the buildings were being used as storage.

The fire scene is just one block away from Ashland Middle School. Road closures cold affect traffic in that area throughout Thursday morning,

A section of Orange and Union Avenue are closed at this time.

Ashland Fire was assisted by Loudonville, Mansfield, Wooster, Jeromesville and Nankin fire agencies.
