Firefighter injured in apartment fire

EUCLID, Ohio - An apartment complex in Euclid caught fire Sunday.

Fire crews were called to Aljer Manor Apartments, located in the 24000 block of Euclid Ave. in Euclid, around 4:30 p.m.

Five neighboring fire departments also showed up to help battle the blaze. 

Euclid's fire chief, Tom Cosgriff, said everyone escaped the complex unharmed. One firefighter did suffer a minor elbow injury.

There are 12 units in the Aljer complex.  The Red Cross is assisting families who are displaced.

The blaze was under control by 6:30 p.m. but remains under investigation.

A cause and damage estimate is not yet known.
