BCI finishes testing of evidence in Elias Acevedo case, turns over results to investigators

CLEVELAND - The Bureau of Criminal Investigations has completed evidence testing in connection with the Elias Acevedo case.

According to BCI officials, all of the evidence submitted up to this point has been tested and the results have been returned to investigators.

Acevedo, 49, is currently behind bars for the murders of Pamela Pemberton and Christina Adkins. He's also accused of raping three other women in a 293 count indictment handed down on October 17.

Since his arrest, sources connected to the investigation tell NewsChannel5 that several other women have come forward claiming to have been sexually assaulted by Acevedo.

Acevedo's trial date will be determined at his next pre-trial, he's expected to face additional charges.

The DNA Cold Case Task Force of the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office indicted Acevedo as a result of a rape kit recently tested from the 1993 rape of a woman which occurred near the same location where Pemberton's body was found.
