Body found in Olmsted Township pond was half naked, tied to concrete block and steel pipe


The man found floating in a pond off of McKenzie Road was apparently murdered.

According to a press release issued by Olmsted Township Police, officials and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office have determined the cause of death to be multiple stab wounds.

Wednesday, an alert resident spotted the body floating in a pond and called for help.

Crews responded to the scene and pulled the body of a male from the water.

The investigation secured two active search warrants, allowing investigators to search the pond where the body was found as well as an unoccupied adjacent apartment.

During the search warrant executions, items of interest were discovered.

At this time, Olmsted Township police believe this to be an isolated crime.

The victim has been identified as an African American male, 20-40 years old, 5'11" tall, approximately 142 lbs, black hair and brown eyes. When discovered, the male was wearing a red- Betty Boop tank top, three black bras, a light black hooded jacket and was nude from the wa ist down.

It was determined that the victim had a rope around his waist and was knotted from behind. The rope was attached to a piece of concrete and a steel pipe.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner and police are working to identify the male via dental records due to the badly decomposing body.

The preliminary cause of death was from multiple stab wounds.

There are no suspects or persons of interest at this time.
