Man shot on Cleveland's east side, bullet becomes lodged in head

CLEVELAND - Police are investigating a shooting overnight on the city's east side.

According to Cleveland police, two males got into an argument with unknown individuals at Joe D's Bar in the area of East 136th Street and Miles around 1 a.m.

Around 1:30 a.m., the two men were walking home from the club when they heard several shots fired. One of the male walkers was shot in the head.

The second walker pulled the victim to safety and called police.

The victim was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center in unknown condition.

EMS told NewsChannel 5 it did not look like he was shot in the head at the time, because his external injuries showed only a graze to his ear.

EMS later confirmed that the bullet did not just graze his ear but went straight through the victim's ear canal and became lodged in his head.

There was no description of the suspects available as the man was shot from behind.
