Yellow police tape surrounded a house on E. 147th Street on Monday. A Cleveland police car was in the driveway.

It all started on Friday with a call to Cleveland investigators from Michigan police leading Cleveland police to skeletal remains underneath mulch and debris in the yard.

“A little bit before the Fourth of July we were smelling something over here. But we didn’t know that it was a body, we thought it was an animal,” neighbor Destiny Taylor said.

Michigan police arrested 20-year-old Devontay Brown for domestic violence and felonious assault charges while he was in Michigan. The victim was his mother. Police said that's when he confessed to shooting and killing his father, who he buried at their home on E. 147th.
