Woman forced to deliver baby early after SUV hits Parma laundromat

PARMA, Ohio - A pregnant woman was pinned up against a building when an SUV jumped the curb in Parma Monday afternoon.

The crash happened at the Sparkling Clean Coin Laundry on Chevrolet Boulevard. A woman, who was eight months pregnant, was sitting on a bench outside when a Jeep Liberty hit her, police said.

A family member said the woman had to deliver the baby after more than two hours in surgery. She is scheduled for another surgery on Wednesday.

Both mom and baby are in critical condition. Officers at the scene told NewsChannel5 that she suffered only minor injuries.

The woman's husband was also struck by the SUV, but was treated and released.
