Officers captured dashcam video of a man who took authorities on a high-speed chase in a stolen Lorain police cruiser on Friday.

It all started when officers responded to a person in crisis. Officers came to the man's man's home and were speaking to him when they discovered he had a warrant out for his arrest.

Police brought the man, identified as Brandon Pettry, 30, to a meeting spot to transfer him to deputies. That's when he started fighting with officers. He managed to get into one of the unattended cruisers and took off.

Footage from the dashcam video shows Pettry leading police on a chase through county roads.

The cruiser weaves in and out of traffic, at some points going through construction cones on the highway. The roads are visibly wet with the cruiser who followed him using his wipers.

At one point, Pettry spins out of control, momentarily stopping before he continues to flee from police.

Eventually, the cruiser veers off into a ditch next to a cornfield where officers approach with guns raised and arrest him.

Erie County Sheriff's Office deputies got the call for a stolen Lorain cruiser at about 12:05 p.m. Friday. They took part in the chase with the stolen cruiser, along with Huron police, Lorain police, Lorain County Sheriff's Office, Elyria police and Ohio State Highway Patrol. Huron police used spike strips to stop the cruiser.
