We now know a bit more about the family of the Streetsboro 13-year-old who police say shot and killed his 11-year-old brother earlier this week. According to court documents, the boys were adopted in 2007, their adopted parents were divorced in 2013, and there was a history of domestic violence in the home.

In 2012, Martin Lishing was convicted of domestic violence against the mother, according to court documents.

She wrote in a victim impact statement that her husband had anger issues and frightened her and their children, according to court documents.

During the divorce proceedings, Martin was granted primary custody of the children, with the mother receiving custody of the children every other weekend.

Four days prior to the fatal shooting, Streetsboro police were called to the home on Alden Drive when a woman reported her 13-year-old step-son was "being unruly," according to the incident report.

While police were at the home, the 13-year-old made comments about wanting to harm himself. He was taken to a medical facility for evaluation.
