Stolen black lab dog, Raya, returned to Macedonia animal rescue group

MACEDONIA, Ohio - A black lab dog that was stolen Saturday from an adoption event at the Petco store in Macedonia has been returned.

Raya, a 2-year-old, 62-pound female black lab dog, was taken from the East Aurora Road store Saturday afternoon

According to the animal rescue group hosting the adoption event, Canine Lifeline, Inc., the suspects were believed to be two Caucasian females in their late teens/early twenties with slender build.

One of the suspects reportedly had long, straight dark hair, a tattoo on her upper left arm and was wearing a green or camouflage colored hat. The other suspect had short blonde hair with a nose ring, wearing a cream-colored tank top with a lace back.

The rescue group contacted NewsChannel5 Sunday night to report that Raya had been safely returned.

The rescue group said a 20-year-old man, who's starting college at Kent State, gave them a tip regarding Raya's whereabouts. The rescue group said he also refused the reward.
