Warren troopers: Driver in crash that killed 6 teens was driving erratically, going 70 mph in a 35

WARREN, Ohio - Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers say the driver of an SUV that crashed into a pond killing six teens was speeding, but she did not have any alcohol or drugs in her system.

A news conference was held Thursday afternoon updating the media on the wreck investigation.

Lt. Brian Holt said 19-year-old Alexis Cayson was driving a 1998 Honda Passport that had been stolen. The toxicology report showed no signs of alcohol or drugs in her system, but there was evidence proving she was driving "erratically and irrationally."

Troopers said Cayson was traveling southbound on Nikes-Warren River Road between 62 and 70 mph in a 35 mph zone when she traveled off the road, striking the guardrail.

The SUV went airborne and landed on its roof in a pond that was 5-feet deep.

Brian Henry and Asher Lewis escaped after Henry used his elbow to break the window. The others all drowned.

Brandon Murray's mother, Lisa Williamson, said she had given her son permission to spend the night at Ramone's house. Instead she said they snuck off and paid the price with their lives.

"If he had just made the right decision I alwasy tells him don't get in anybodys car you don't know if they've been drinking so that's a bad decision not listening you have to listen," she said.

Toxicology results also revealed none of the teenagers had alcohol in their systems. Drug screens are incomplete for Kirklan Behner, Brian Henry, Asher Lewis and Daylan Ray.
