Trend? Renting baby items, cribs, toys, clothes instead of buying them

Chillbaby is like a Netflix for baby clothes. Instead of buying a bunch of clothes your kid will grow out of, you pay a monthly fee to rent a bunch of clothes you can keep exchanging. For $30 a month, you get a 10-piece basic package with unlimited returns.

Of course, this isn't super high end designer stuff.

We all know how important it is to have a fashionable baby. That's where Borrow Baby Couture comes in. The site rents high end baby clothes. Why spend $209 on a Versace when you can rent it for $31.35 a week. A $770 Dior silk Georgette dress is only $115.50.

Surprisingly, there aren't a lot of toy rental companies but there are a lot of used toy options. Former toy rental site,, has switched to a used toy model. You can still get some decent deals, but you're buying.

When you're traveling away from home and you don't want to pack all of your baby gear, you can use a service like Baby's Away. They'll deliver cribs, a booster seat, a jogging stroller, etc. and you can rent by the day or the week. A crib costs $12 a day.

There are lots of smaller local options, so it's worth doing a search for whatever city you're vacationing in. rents equipment in the Fort Myers, Fla. area.
