Six Big Tech Companies To Testify To Congress About Privacy

Six big tech companies will send representatives to testify before Congress about privacy practices later this month.

Amazon, Google, Twitter, AT&T, Apple and Charter Communications will all send officials to speak before the Senate Commerce Committee. The hearing is scheduled for Sept. 26.

The hearing will allow policymakers to ask the companies how they are addressing data privacy concerns. The companies' representatives will also be able to address new privacy laws in California and the European Union.

Notably, Facebook will not be a part of the hearing. CEO Mark Zuckerberg appeared before Congress in April.
