Browns open the NFL season with loss to Miami

CLEVELAND - The Browns opened the NFL season losing to the Miami Dolphins losing on opening day again. They haven't had an opening day win since 2004. The Browns are 1-14 on opening day and 1-13 at home since 1999.

Browns lose 23-10.

Caleb Sturgis kicks 36 yard fieldgoal

Browns go for it on 4th and 2. Brandon Weeden is sacked by Cameron Wake. Browns turn ball over at their own 25.

Daniel Thomas one yard touchdown run extends Miami's lead. Dolphins went 85 yards in 10 plays.

3rd Quarter

Browns answer Miami's drive with a nine play 59 yard drive. Billy Cundiff kicks a 39 yard fieldgoal.

Dolphins take the lead after a 5 play 51 yard drive is completed with a 34 yard touchdown pass from Ryan Tannehill to former Buckeye Brian Hartline.

2nd Quarter

The Browns score their first points of the regular season with a 56 yard drive in 11 plays lasting 3:45. Brandon Weeden connected with Jordan Cameron on seven yard touchdown pass.

Two Minute Warning

Browns come up with the first turnover of the season when Tashaun Gipson intercepts Ryan Tannehill and returns 29 yards with 4:13 to play in the second quarter.

Weeden throws behind Cameron and is intercepted by Dimitri Patterson. Weeden has thrown three interceptions in the first half.

Browns defense is not getting pressure on Ryan Tannehill.

Browns take opening series and drive 40 yards in eight plays before Brandon Weeden throws an interception at Miami one yard line.

Miami wins the toss and defers to second half.
