Traffic headaches expected due to Innerbelt work

CLEVELAND - By rush hour Monday morning, all westbound traffic will be driving on the new Innerbelt Bridge. But before that can happen, we have a weekend full of closures to get through.

Starting tonight, both directions of the Innerbelt bridge will close to traffic. That is 90 eastbound and westbound between 490 and 77. This closure starts at 8pm tonight and goes until 6am on Friday morning.

Traffic on 90 EB/WB will resume normally for the Friday morning commute. However, the westbound side of 90 will shut down again Friday night at 8pm The Innerbelt bridge westbound, (90 WB) will be closed Friday night at 8pm until Monday morning at 6am.

On Monday, all 90 WB entrance ramps will be carrying traffic onto the New Innerbelt Bridge. Westbound traffic will no longer be using the old bridge. However, the old Innerbelt will continue to carry eastbound traffic for now.

Another closure happening this weekend will is the West 14th St entrance ramp to 90 EB. That closure is one that will last throughout the construction of the second Innerbelt, and will be closed until 2016.

Those who live or work in Tremont and want to get out of that area will need to use the Lorain-Carniegie Bridge to downtown or the W 7th st ramp to 490.
