Forecast: Winter Storm Warnings & Winter Weather Advisorys

CLEVELAND - Power of Five Meteorologist Elisa Malinovitz says our area will see a combination of snow, ice, and rain over the next 24 hours.

The following counties remain under a Winter Storm Warning until noon on Monday: Lorain, Lake, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Ashtabula, Summit, Portage, Trumbull, Medina, Lucas, Wood, Ottawa, Crawford, Ashland, Hancock, Seneca, Huron,Crawford, Richland, Marion. 5 to over 7 inches of snowfall is likely to accumulate for most of these areas with eastern portions along the lakeshore getting over 10 inches.

Southern counties including Wayne, Stark, Mahoning, Morrow, Holms and Knox have been downgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory until noon on Monday as snow totals are likely to be in the 1-4 inch range for these areas.

Snow if falling at this morning for much of northeastern Ohio with an increase in intensity likely later today. Between 4PM and midnight a surge of warmer air comes in from the south turning snow to rain. This will be followed by another surge or arctic air around 3AM.  As rain will not have a chance to evaporate before the colder air comes in, we will see many areas ice over. This ice will be covered by another layer of snow between 4 and 5AM...the snow covered ice may make road conditions hazardous for the morning commute.
