Forecast: Clearing skies Monday, sunny Tuesday

CLEVELAND - 11:00 pm Update: January Thaw moves in this week. Clear and starry skies for everyone tonight. Lows will drop into the middle and upper 20s.

With high pressure still over the Ohio Valley, skies will remain mostly sunny Tuesday and Wednesday. Mild southerly winds will warm our high temperatures up into the lower 40s through midweek. The big surge of warm air arrives on Thursday and last through the weekend. A few rain showers are likely Thursday with highs between 45 & 50 degrees. Friday looks rainy in the morning with temperatures climbing up to between 50 & 55 degrees during the afternoon. Isolated showers are possible Saturday with a high near 56 degrees. Most of our snow is going to melt away. 

A stronger cold front will move thru the area on Sunday. We will stay on the warm side of the system thru the day. Rain showers are likely, with maybe even 1 or 2 claps of thunder. Highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Cold air returns for Monday. Look for a brief morning snow shower and highs in the lower 30s.

We'll see increasing sunshine this afternoon with highs in the middle to upper 30s. More sun and warmer temps are in store for Tuesday and Wednesday as highs will push into the low 40s. Enjoy.

Morning temperatures are near 30 degrees under cloudy skies.

As high pressure builds into southern Ohio, the sky will gradually clear from west to east this afternoon. It may take all day for areas near the Pennsylvania state line to clear. Look for highs near 35 degrees.

Overnight, partly cloudy skies will allow temperatures to drop to the mid-20s.

Sunshine is likely Tuesday as high pressure moves east. Highs will be warmer, near 42 degrees.

Although clouds gradually return Wednesday, high temperatures will continue to climb as cold air stays north of the Great Lakes. Wednesday's highs will hit the low-40s.

Rain is likely late Thursday through early Friday as low pressure arrives from the southwest.

Another low pressure system and surge of warm air arrives Saturday. Rain is likely Saturday evening through early Sunday.

Highs at the end of the week may approach the low 50s in many areas! Get ready for snow melt and mud!
