The Wendy's on Graham Road near Route 8 in Stow was destroyed by fire late Tuesday night after firefighters spent hours on end battling the blaze.

According to the owner of the Wendy's everyone was able to get out safely.

When firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after 10:30 p.m.,  they made initial entry inside but were forced to leave because the building was determined unsafe due to the roof potentially collapsing.

The fire appeared to have started in the kitchen area according to officers at the scene but a cause has yet to be determined.

Thick smoke filled the air for hours as firefighters worked to bring the fire under control.

Firefighters even brought a backhoe to the scene to help tear open some of the roof so they could safely fight the fire.

Graham Road was closed between Route 8 and Hudson Drive.

Firefighters from Cuyahoga Falls and Hudson were on scene helping Stow firefighters.

Investigators on scene have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
