Weekend off to a deadly start after multiple shootings reported Friday night in Cleveland

A wave of violence hit Cleveland's east side Friday night, leaving one person dead and several others injured in four separate shootings.

Police received the first call, around 10:11 p.m., for a man shot in the hand on East 40th Street.

Twenty minutes later they were dispatched to the 550 block of East 128th Street for man shot in the head.  The victim was taken to University Hospitals. His condition is unknown.

Around 1:55 a.m., Saturday morning another man was reportedly shot near East 33rd Street and Lakeside Avenue.  His condition is unknown.

Shortly after 2 a.m., police responded to the 3550 block of East 93rd Street for a man who had been shot.  He was transported to a local hospital but later died from his wounds, police said.

Police have not named any suspects in the homicide.  The shootings remain under investigation.
