It's a scenario that has happened in stores across Northeast Ohio. Thieves run into a store, grabbing thousands of dollars in merchandise before running out. It usually lasts less than five minutes.
The most recent case of grab and go theft happened at a Victoria's Secret store at Chapel Hill Mall.
A new crime trend in Mentor: Thieves grab an armful of clothes and run out the door
On June 4 at 4:50 p.m., three thieves ran into the store, grabbing a large amount of clothes before running out with merchandise.
Police say the robbers took:
- 15 pairs of yoga pants ($569.95)
- 120 t-shirts ($3,234)
- 35 hoodies ($1,748)
- 10 t-shirts with sequins ($499.00)

It was an incident that lasted under a minute, according to surveillance video obtained by the Akron Police Department.
Police said the suspects range in age from 30 to 40 years old. They were wearing athletic clothing at the time.
