A Cleveland Central Catholic High School student was hospitalized Thursday for possibly ingesting a pot-laced brownie.
EMS crews were dispatched to the school on Baxter Avenue in Cleveland around 10:45 a.m. for a report of a teen who possibly ingested a marijuana brownie.
The 15-year-old was taken to University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center.
Officials said her condition did not appear to be serious.
According to the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, two students were actually affected.
The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland sent this statement to News 5 regarding the incident:
At Cleveland Central Catholic the wellbeing of our students is our highest priority. As such, we take very seriously the fact that two students recently required medical attention after ingesting brownies laced with marijuana. This type of conduct will not be tolerated at Cleveland Central Catholic, and once all the facts are known the person or persons responsible will be disciplined in a manner consistent with the seriousness of this conduct. In the interests of safety, we have instructed Students not to accept any food item from another student at any time and have asked parents and guardians to discuss the issue with their children.
