CLEVELAND — A feature movie, filmed in Northeast Ohio and written, directed and produced by Cleveland native Eric Swinderman is set to debut on Apple TV and other streaming platforms in April.

“The Enormity of Life”is a dark comedy “about misery and a heart-wrenching drama about the things that make us reluctantly laugh.”

The movie stars Brekin Meyer, best known for his roles in “Clueless,” “Road Trip,” and “Garfield;” Emily Kinney, best known for her roles in “The Walking Dead” and “The Flash;” and Giselle Eisenberg, best known for her roles in “Life in Pieces” and “American Housewife.”

Filming took place across Northeast Ohio, including Middleburg Heights, Lakewood, Elyria, Beachwood, Lorain, North Royalton, Medina and Cleveland.

With filming taking places at locations ranging from private homes to hospitals to diners, viewers might spot a few familiar sights.

Outside of Meyer, Kinney and Eisenberg, the rest of the cast and most of the crew were all from the Northeast Ohio area.

“I absolutely love bringing big films to Cleveland,” Swinderman said in a press release. “The businesses and people of Northeast Ohio are so welcoming and make the entire process so easy. Plus I love to showcase the hometown I’m so proud of and I can’t wait for Cleveland to see its close-up!”

The film also features songs from Cleveland natives By Light We Loom and John Kalman, and one character even wears an “I Liked Cleveland Before it Was Cool” shirt designed by CLE Clothing Co.

“The Enormity of Life” is set to debut on Apple TV, Google Play, FandangoNOW, and Vimeo on Demand on April 6.

"This was a very powerful and challenging project from script to screen,” said Meyer. “It’s always a risk when you’re dealing with such polarizing subjects but hopefully this film can help encourage communication in regards to mental illness and seeking help."
